Our public works department has the equipment and training to take to the streets and keep them as clear as possible during inclement weather. Snow can accumulate quickly and when that happens they will be working tirelessly to apply salt and make the roads passable. They will be doing their best during the storm, but most of the cleanup progress will be shortly after the snow stops falling. Please have patience during heavy snow. The best thing you can do is plan ahead and stay home. If you do have to go out, try to take the path with the least hills and slopes, as they can be treacherous.
Snow plowing and salting is always dangerous. It would be very helpful if you do not park in the street when snow is in the forecast. This will diminish the chances of damage to your vehicle and our equipment. It will also allow the snow plows and salt trucks to do a more through job.
